Freelance Measured Building Surveyor

We are looking for capable, reliable individuals to visit residential properties and gather measurements, basic sketches and clear photographs. The work supports the preparation of architectural drawings for extensions, alterations and other residential projects.

Surveys are arranged in advance and offered as needed, with availability varying from month to month. This is a flexible freelance opportunity that may suit students, aspiring surveyors or people seeking practical industry experience.

Previous professional experience is not essential, but accurate measurements, attention to detail and courteous communication with residents are important.

The previous advertisement stated £30–£60 per completed survey, dependent on the size and complexity of the property, with mileage paid at 45p per mile. It also referred to an indicative hourly comparison of £25–£30.

It stated that a laser measuring device could be provided, while basic sketching equipment and a camera-equipped phone were required.

These are the terms shown in the earlier advertisement, not a guarantee of current rates or availability. Confirm the fee, expenses, travel, deliverables, equipment and freelance appointment terms for each commission before accepting it.
